We've got Mail!
Thanks in part to a contribution from the Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin, Texas of what to them were obsolete server class HP machines, the Rocky Mountain Chapter is pleased to announce that Sierra Club grassroots volunteers and staff across the country can now have Sierra Club email addresses in their chapter domain names. Our thanks to then LCRA CIO Cliff Moore for arranging the contribution. We would like to thank the Texas, Tennessee, and Minnesota chapters for their participation in the beta test of this capability.
Mail sent to, for instance, chair@georgia.sierraclub.org will be auto forwarded to a personal account of that chair's choice. We present one Sierra Club face to the world. Personal addresses of club volunteers are protected from spammer harvesting. By using role accounts, such as chair@lonestar.sierraclub.org, we can easily change who gets chair mail when the name of the chair changes.
